The Peoples Democratic Party Ekiti State under the leadership of Hon Kehinde Odebunmi has said that former Governor of the state, Ayo Fayose has no Value to add to the Party’s stability.
A statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the Party in the State pointed out that the Rivers State Governor, Nyson Wike recently in a National Media Chat came up hard on the National Working Committee (NWC), alleging Prince Uche Secondus led national Committee of fueling Crisis in the States, as tactics to elongate their tenure.
“One of such States is Ekiti. Against all permutations and sane projections, the NWC keeps aiding and abetting Fayose as an Agent of distability of the South West and insubordination to Leaders and constituted Authorities.
“From the obvious facts before the Appeal Court on the Ward Congresses and others before the High Courts, We finger the NWC as the Albatross, solely routing for partially for the emergence of the Fayose group.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Former Governor Ayo Fayose has become a leader with less than 10% followership in Ekiti, having destroyed the reputation and cohesion of Ekiti PDP, during his tenure as Governor, partly for which PDP lost ALL the 2018 Elections in Ekiti, except Senator Olujimi who won back her ticket in the Courts.
“Mr Ayo Fayose has never been a consistently loyal party man. He has dual political identify all the time. In 2007, he campaigned against Engrn Segun Oni in favor of Dr Kayode Fayemi. In 2018, he did same against Senator Olujimi in favour of Prince Dayo Adeyeye. Currently, he has registered an amorphous group named Oshoko Peoples Assembly, OPA that doesn’t believe the PDP philosophy and Agenda. Fayose openly launders the image of a prominent Lagos APC leader with impunity to PDP.
“Both Mr Ayo Fayose and the NWC of Prince Uche Secondus have no regard for Justice. No wonder while Governor Wike warned that those who think they can build on Injustice will end on building on nothing. It is both prophetic and an incontrovertible truism.
“Prince Uche Secondus as National Chairman has never thought it expedient to call Fayose to order.
“Recently, Fayose took on Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, contesting an imaginary leadership with him, as sitting Governor and leader of the zone. We must make it abundantly clear that No sane group or people will surrender to Fayose leadership, any longer. We have seen him through.
“We therefore encourage all our stakeholders, leaders and PDP Members in the South West to support Governor Seyi Makinde. He is emotionally stable, reliable and he is NOT a con-man.
“Governor Seyi Makinde, his staff and all well meaning leaders and PDP alike in the South West should ignore the incoherent presentations of Lere Olayinka, Media Aide to Fayose and other reckless minds in Fayose garb. Lere in particular is an untrained Shoe Maker who just veered into junk journalism, as a cob-reporter, to erk a living. He is not seasoned to appreciate the ethics of modern journalism. Above all these, he is an impostor in the affairs of the South West.
“Therefore, from our available records, former Governor Ayo Fayose has no value to add to the stability of PDP in Ekiti and the South West. He did not add such values in the 2018 elections when his soul and body was PDP, not now that he’s partly in APC and Oshoko Peoples Assembly, OPA.
“Ekiti State PDP Working Committee under the leadership of Hon Kehinde Odebunmi wishes to appreciate all our collegiate leadership and Members, for a successful year 2020. We wish you all Merry Christmas and a prosperous New year” the statement added.
