The Football Ethics Commission determined today (6) the removal of Rogério Caboclo, president of the CBF.
The members of the Ethics Committee sent the order to the CBF board for the officer to be out of office for at least 30 days, with the possibility of extension, to duly defend himself against the complaint of moral and sexual harassment, filed by a CBF employee last Friday, as first reported by GE.
With the space vacant, who returns to the command of the CBF, on paper, is the oldest vice-president of the entity, Antônio Carlos Nunes, Colonel Nunes. Caboclo and CBF have already been notified of the decision.

This was the move of the Ethics Commission, which was already expected by the CBF board, which joined together to support Caboclo’s departure from power at this time and urged the body to manifest itself. The recent articulation involved five of the eight vice vices of the entity. The now ousted president tried to resist as long as he could and found himself thwarted. But he showed signs that he will continue to fight for the job.
The CBF Board of Directors has the power to carry out the removal based on article 143 of the CBF Statute: “In cases of proven urgency, the CBF Board of Directors may remove, on a preventive basis, any individual or legal entity directly or indirectly linked to the CBF that violates or tolerates violations of the rules contained in this Statute or the FIFA or CONMEBOL Statute, as well as the rules contained in sports legislation and CBF regulations.”

With Caboclo’s departure, Conmebol intends to decide as soon as possible who will be the head of the organization of the Copa América in Brazil, which starts on the 13th.
Caboclo’s removal will increase the list of presidents of the CBF who, for various reasons, did not fulfill their mandate completely. Involved in allegations of corruption, Ricardo Teixeira resigned in 2012.

Caboclo came to power after winning an election in 2018. He took office in 2019. His candidacy was supported by former CBF president Marco Polo Del Nero. In the vote, almost unanimity. Of the 138 possible votes, he received 135. Flamengo abstained, Athletico Paranaense was absent, and Corinthians voted blank. Before reaching the presidency, Caboclo was CBF’s chief financial officer and executive director of management.
In recent months, the relationship with CBF’s directors and employees has frayed. The apex came with the emergence of the case of moral and sexual harassment against a ceremonialist who worked directly with him.
As the GE revealed, the complaint reveals that Caboclo asked the employee if she “wanked”. At another time, Caboclo tried to force her to eat a dog biscuit, calling her a “bitch”.
