Behold the bright day that heralded the rise of a star.
As the Yoruba adage goes:
“Omo ti yio je asamu, kekere loti nse enu samu-samu”
(A child destined for greatness begins to show signs early).
This was the early life of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, captured in this cherished photograph.
Here, we see young Biodun, barely three years old, sitting on his father’s lap in a primary school group picture. Even then, his curiosity and drive for knowledge were evident.
From birth, the signs were clear—a preconscious thirst for learning and an unyielding determination to stay close to the fountain of wisdom. At an age when most children stayed home, young Biodun refused to be left behind.
His father, a dedicated teacher, indulged this early quest for education. In the local Yoruba parlance, they called it “julesimi”—a term for children too young for formal schooling but eager enough to join kindergarten classes.
Look closely at his posture in this picture—a thinker in the making, his young mind already at work.
Today, that little boy has grown into the servant leader of Ekiti State, embodying the ideals of wisdom, vision, and unwavering dedication to service.
Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji: A destiny fulfilled.
