The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, has expressed shock over the sudden death of the General Manager of Fresh FM Ado Ekiti, Mr. David Ajiboye.
Management of the station had announced that Mr. Ajiboye died on Sunday evening at an Ibadan – based hospital during a brief illness.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, NUJ chairman, Rotimi Ojomoyela and the Secretary Kayode Babatuyi described his death as devastating.
It reads “With heavy heart, the leadership of NUJ, Ekiti State Council commiserates with Management and Staff of Fresh FM over the sudden death of the General Manager of the station in Ado Ekiti, Mr. David Ajiboye.
The death of Ajiboye came as a rude shock to the union, as he was a very diligent and humble journalist who had also shown rare support to NUJ since his deployment to Ekiti.
It became more pathetic because Ajiboye died at a time his life was blossoming.
We pray God to grant the immediate family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while we also pray God to continue to protect members of the union.
