The African Bishop of the Old Catholic Apostolic Church (OCAC), His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Bishop Raphael Oluwaseun Fagbohun has slammed the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji for allegedly neglecting Ogotun Ekiti in term of infrastructural development.

Bishop Fagbohun made the comment at the weekend while ministering in the Church during the burial of His late elder brother, Mr. Patric Fagbohun, a retired Principal and one time Education Secretary in Ekiti Southwest local government, who died after a brief illness.

Bishop Fagbohun, who scored Oyebanji low in term of fulfillment of his electioneering campaign promises to the people of Ogotun Ekiti community, lamented what he described as poor state of necessary infrastructure in Ogotun Ekiti as result of lack of government presence in the community despite their support for the All Progressive Congress (APC) government.

“I must express my displeasure at the way things are currently in Ogotun my home town despite my people’s enormous supports for the government of APC in the state.

“I could remember vividly how our people voted enmass for the APC during the last election, and there were promised they made to us by then, but now, we can’t find anything, no government presence, no single infrastructure, we were completely cut off, and we have no leader to fight for us in Ogotun” he stated.

The Bishop equally lamented how his late elder brother who had served the government for 35 years could not get his gratuity ten years after he had retired till he died.

Bishop Fagbohun called on the government to be more responsive to the people’s welfare, especially the residents of Ogotun Ekiti.

The African Bishop however promised to bring an higher institution to Ogotun Ekiti in memory of his late elder brother who had laboured so much for the development of Ogotun Ekiti because of his love for his people and the community.

He added, “But he did all those things without being rewarded or remembered because he was a complete man of peace who would not want to ruffle shoulders with anyone fight for anything so that he would not offend anybody.

“Today he has gone, but his works are speaking for him and I am very impressed at the testimonies of people about him. But I strongly feel within me that that there are times we need to fight, and fight for what belong to you, because even the Bible made us to understand that there are times for war and time of peace. Perhaps, if he had stood up, fought for his rights while he was alive, things would not have been like that, he would not have been forgotten the way it happened to him. His rights would not have been trampled upon like the way it happened to him, I am quite sure that he would have gotten his entitlements before he died. It is painful that our government and the government he consciously worked worked for and served treated him this way”.
