Reminiscing  A Moment With BAO-Adl

This afternoon, I had a private meeting with Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO). The meeting looks strategic. Incidentally, it was my first private visit to him since his ascension onto the governorship seat, though we’ve been meeting and discussing at informal level.

Today’s meeting was more fruitful, broad, all-encompassing, and centered on strategic ways to accelerate development in the state within the next few months. There is no disputing the fact that Ekiti people have made a great and rewarding choice in BAO with what I was able to glean from that interaction.

As Ekiti Governor, BAO had in the last few weeks made some strategic appointments in key areas of governance; areas like: Budget and Planning; Trade and Investment, Agriculture, and Finance. These are appointees that are pivotally positioned to help the governor put the state on a very strong footing in the areas of job creation, faster economic growth, and geometric increase in our IGR.

The Governor also used the meeting to seek a good understanding of our people, who worked relentlessly during the electioneering period and that there are good places for them in his heart. “All appointments for our people will come up immediately after the general election next year,” he said.

BAO also reiterated the injection of development policies that will fix creative and hard-working Ekiti youth in his government. “I will be engaging with some of the creative ones amongst our youth in no distant time. There will be a very special place for them in this government.”

BAO also revealed his desire to create a bigger opportunity to boost and promote Ekiti’s tourism potential by developing the corridor recognised as the tourism hub of the state.

Succinctly, it was a great and revealing discussion with the governor.

Wahoo! Ekiti has a greater and brighter future with BAO.
