Popular Northern Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Gumi has reacted to the arrest of four Oodua Nation supporters, arrested by Lagos State Police for wearing charms on their bodies during the peaceful rally in Lagos, on July 3, 2021.
Recall that despite the warnings of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu that no Agitators would be tolerated in Lagos State, people, especially Yorubas still gathered to exercise their constitutional rights without the fear of heavily armed Forces.
However, as the rally was going on, a video, where some miscreants were been captured by the Police, wearing charms went viral on social media.
Reacting to this, Sheikh Gumi expresses worry as regards the situation.
According to the notable Cleric, he questioned that why would people put their trust in charms which are majorly superstitions used to deceive gullible people?
Speaking further, Sheikh Gumi said that all powers belong to Allah, noting that the devil is powerless.
In conclusion, Gumi made it known that Nigeria will not progress if we nurture the continuous belief of superstition, adding that the devil will leave both Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho to face the music alone.
