Police Arrests Another Ritualist, Rescues Kidnapped Victim

Heritagenewsng reports that the Kwara State Police Command has again arrested a man by suspected ritualist, Alade James of Alawe compound Offa, for allegedly killing a 9-year-old girl, Faith Samuel, of Onireke area in Offa local government.

Alade was caught on Saturday in the process of burying the corpse at Ikotun area of Offa. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had killed the deceased for the purpose of making money rituals.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the command, Ajayi Okasanmi, the suspect buried the corpse with a #1000 note.

He said the body has been recovered and deposited at the mortuary after certifying her dead by a doctor, for autopsy.

” The suspect confessed to the killing for money making ritual. The parents of the deceased have been contacted while the Commissioner of Police Kwara State Command, CP Tuesday Assayomo has ordered a discreet investigation into the murder.”

In a related development, the police has also rescued a kidnapped victim, Kafayat Jamiu a-25years-old lady, of Olupo farm settlement, Eruku, Ekiti local government area of the state.

Recall that an information was recieved by the police about the kidnap of one victim while sleeping in her room by unidentified gun men.

Police Spokesperson said the Command’s tactical teams in conjunction with local hunters and vigilantes were dispatched by the commissioner of police to the bushes for a search, rescue and possible arrest of the kidnappers.

According to him, the efforts yielded a positive result in early morning of Sunday when the victim was rescued unhurt. He said the kidnappers escaped with bullet injuries while one locally fabricated assault rifle with four AK 47 live ammunitions were recovered.

He maintained that effort to arrest the fleeing suspects is being intensified.


The command also confirmed an incident of kidnap reported by one Raji Ibrahim Abidemi of TAIISA fuelling station Omuaran on the 24th of September 2021 to the effect that his wife Raji Ajibike and his two daughters, Raji Zainab and Raji Aliya were abducted by unknown gunmen after firing shots to scare people away.

Okasanmi said effort is still on top gear to get the victims rescued. He advised the good people of Kwara to continue to support the Police Command with information, promising that sooner than expected the victims will be liberated.
