It is undeniable that pastors are indispensable members of any society, anywhere in the globe, because of the solace and guidance they provide to individuals who, in times of trouble, seek the Lord.
On the other side, many pastors in today’s culture are seen as full of hyenas in sheepskin because of the widespread incidences of adultery and profiling that have led to the desecration of innocent worshippers within their churches.
In many African Christian communities, pastors prey on the most vulnerable members of the flock. There have been numerous reports of pastors taking advantage of vulnerable congregation members.
Most Christians in Africa are dissatisfied with the church for a variety of reasons, including the abduction of wives and the sexual exploitation of minors.
An enraged churchgoer in the Nyalenda sub-county allegedly beat up a local pastor, leaving him with serious injuries, after the pastor was accused of kissing other people’s wives in the church during the day, while their husbands were absent. He said he was only doing this while their husbands were out of the house.
In a video that has gone viral online, the renegade preacher can be seen hugging female parishioners and flogging male members with a belt he claims was anointed.
When asked why he was acting in such a way, he says he was “beating out the sins” of the deluded followers, the vast majority of whom were men.
When husbands weren’t around, he allegedly kissed women on the cheek in church to make them feel more loved on a spiritual level.
One of the husbands found out about it and went looking for the “pastor” to find out why he was kissing his friends’ wives.
The pastor stutteringly attempted to explain his conduct, but the outraged congregation quickly took him away and taught him a valuable lesson.
There has been a wide spectrum of comments to the video online, with the majority of Netizens claiming that the man of God is brainwashing vulnerable followers.
Some responses from the internet community are as follows:
It’s high time that we defined Christianity, Christians, and the Church with clarity.
Contrary to the unambiguous teaching of the Bible, “there are numerous groups out there acting as a church and far too many of us calling ourselves Christians,” one Twitter user said. When citing this article, please include the following:
