Oyebanji’s Administration Committed To Women Development In Ekiti -Adubiaro

The Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Dr(Mrs) Habibat Omolara Adubiaro has said that, the present administration led by Governor Biodun Oyebanji would be relentless towards women’s development and emancipation in the state.

The SSG said this while playing host to a Non Governmental Organization(NGO), Balm in Gilead Foundation for Sustainable Development (BIGIF) in her office on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

Adubiaro explained that the appointment of women into key positions by the Governor had further shown that the Governor was gender sensitive and ready to do everything humanly possible to prioritize their welfare.

The Government scribe, noted that the governor has been highly commended by his colleagues for giving women tangible role to play in his administration for better service delivery

“Let me start by commending you for your brilliant initiative and taking it upon yourself to champion the good cause of women in our society.

“If there is one thing this present administration must be commended for it is its commitment to women development. This administration on coming on board has demonstrated its readiness to promote women development with the appointment of women into sensitive positions which I am one of them. His colleague governors have highly commended him for this”

The SSG while commending the NGO for its laudable role in promoting good governance and gender equality said that she would continue to see herself as part of BIGIF having attended seminars organized by the NGO on different occasions.

Dr Adubiaro promised to give assistance to the NGO in the realization of its stated objectives and also table their demands before the governor.

“I still see myself as part and parcel of BIGIF. I have had opportunity to attend seminars organized by you. As a result of this, I promise to assist you and also table your demands before the Governor.

Earlier, the coordinator of BIGIF, Mrs Tumininu Adedeji in her remarks urged the SSG to use her prestigious position to push for the full implementation of women priority issues presented to the Governor during his electioneering campaign.

Other demands tabled by the coordinator included, the popularization of the toll free line call to report cases of gender violence, giving out support to women involved in Agriculture, mobilization of Ekiti people and religious leaders across board to join the movement for good to end FGM in the state among other demands by BIGIF.
