…as Hon Akingbolu donates Doctors’ quarters to General Hospital
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji has promised to build a maternity hall within the premises of Aramoko General Hospital in memory of his late mother.
Speaking on Wednesday during the commissioning of Doctors’ quarters donated by the Lawmaker representing Ekiti West Constituency 1, Hon. Tajudeen Akingbolu, at the Aramoko General Hospital, Oyebanji promised to rally his siblings to join hands with him to donate the building in honour of their mother, who coincidentally hailed from the community.
The Governor, who also disclosed that he was born in the same hospital some 55 years ago, commended Hon. Akingbolu for using his hard-earned resources to build a befitting quarters for doctors and nurses in the hospital.
While assuring people of the community and stakeholders in the health sector that he would start his own project as soon as possible, the governor pointed out that the building will be self-sponsored and be named after his late mother.
Earlier, Hon. Akingbolu has commended Governor Oyebanji for his governance style and sense of humility.
“I want to crave the indulgence of this gathering to join me as I specially and honourably welcome and appreciate Mr. Governor for setting aside time despite his busy schedules to come to Aramoko personally for this commissioning. Sir, I’m not saying this because you are here or because your purpose of this visit was because of a project I initiated, I am saying this because it is the reality –you have demystified governance in Ekiti State. You have given governance and representation a human face. Consciously or unconsciously, you have vindicated your ardent promoters who built their campaigns on ‘Tiwantiwa’ slogan,” he stated.
Speaking on what informed the donation of the building, named after his late father, Seriki Akingbolu, the lawmaker said he only responded to the yearnings of the community who have consistently appealed to government to build official quarters for the hospital.
Speaking further, Akingbolu also expressed appreciation to various people who have donated to the hospital in the past, especially members of Aramoko Development Association (ADA), and members of the Arcadian Club of Aramoko Ekiti.
