Heritagenewsng reports that former Chairman, Nigeria Barr Association, ( NBA) Olakanmi Falade has called on Ekiti State Governor, Dr John Kayode Fayemi to declare state of emergency on Ekiti Roads.
Falade who is currently a member of the National Executive Council representing Ado Ekiti NBA in Nigeria, decried in a chat with heritagenewsng that “Our roads needs urgent attention”
Lamenting what he described as deplorable state of roads in Ekiti, Falade said, the roads in Ekiti have become unmotorable and in a state of comatose, adding that Ado to Ifaki in particular is now a death trap.
“Ado environs are experiencing serious neglect as no straight drive for 200metres anywhere in Ado Ekiti.
“Ado to Afao getting worst, that road should be scrapped and closed for an alternative route as same as suffered serious neglect over time.
“Ikere to Akure despite all the scam contractors on site three years after the roads are worst than ever.Adebayo ,particularly infront of A.A Rano has destroyed so. many cars.
“The truth is that our roads need spiritual intervention. where is EKROMA, Infact do we have a Commissioner of Works.Rain or no rain this potholes can be patched or something done
“The bridge at Ayemi garage is gone, Housing Tinuola Bridge gone,Olorunda Bridge gone.Ekiti now experiences holdup like Lagos, although Ekiti Holdup is caused by neglect not crowd as in Lagos”.
The NBA Chief therefore, made a passionate appeal to Governor Fayemi to do something urgent about what he described as highly deplorable roads situation in the state.
“I urge Mr. Governor, and Government to do the needful immediately as we know that you are proactive. The people in the state are crying and complaining bitterly over these highly deplorable state of roads in Ekiti.
“This again could work against your Excellency’s achievements if nothing is done urgently to ameliorate the situation ” Falade added.
