Ondo: Owo Monarch Applauds Appointment of Olayemi as Special Adviser
Paramount ruler of Owo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin, Ogunoye 111, on Thursday expressed appreciation to Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on the appointment of illustrious ‘son’ of Owo, into the governor’s cabinet.
Aiyedatiwa on Wednesday named prominent environmentalist and former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. (Dr.) Adeyemi Olayemi, who is an Owo indigene, as Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment.
Expressing delight with the appointment, the royal father described Olayemi, fondly known as Koko, as a dependable professional and politician, who had contributed meaningfully to the development of Owo and the entire state in terms of environmental policy-formulation, educational investment, and capacity building.
“The royalty and the entire people of Owo appreciate the governor for this impactful decision of picking one of our sons whom we cherish so much, to serve in his cabinet.
“We have absolute confidence in the ability of Dr. Olayemi to deliver on his mandate as entrusted by the governor, going by his impeccable antecedent in environmental policy-formulation, educational investment, and capacity building,” he enthused.
Oba Ogunoye said the community was also impressed with the emergence of the current deputy governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, an Owo indigene, as running mate to the governor in the upcoming governorship election.
He called on politicians to eschew violence and play the game according to the rules, reminding that a society can only advance in a peaceful and loving atmosphere.
He commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for the various masses-friendly policies he had I presented since he took over office, and called on people of the state to team up with him towards the achievement of his set-out goals.
