A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Mr. Wole Olujobi, has expressed profound appreciation to political leaders, government officials, associates and friends who supported the burial of his mother-in-law, the late Mrs. Comfort Ajike Otegbola.

The funeral ceremony, which took place at Igede-Ekiti over the weekend, attracted several dignitaries from across the state and beyond.

In a statement released on Monday, Olujobi and his family thanked the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his support and presence, describing the governor’s gesture as a demonstration of his compassion and commitment to the welfare of citizens.

He also appreciated former governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi; former Deputy Governor, Professor Modupe Adelabu; Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye; and Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, for their solidarity with the family during the period of mourning.

Olujobi equally thanked Senator Yemi Adaramodu, members of the National Assembly and several political leaders across the state for their moral and financial support.

According to him, the overwhelming turnout of sympathisers and contributions from friends, associates and political allies ensured the successful burial of the deceased.

“Our immense thanks go to all who contributed in cash and in kind to the success of the funeral ceremony of our beloved mother-in-law. The show of love and solidarity from leaders, friends and associates across political and social circles is deeply appreciated,” he said.

The APC stalwart also acknowledged the support of leaders and members of the party across the state, particularly those from Gbonyin and Ayekire local government areas, noting that their presence underscored the strong bond within the party.

He extended special thanks to his colleagues in the journalism profession for their role in the media coverage of the burial rites.

The family also acknowledged the support of members of the New Testament Anglican Church, Abuja Quarters, Ado-Ekiti, led by Rev. Ayodeji Daramola, as well as residents of the community who offered prayers and assistance throughout the burial arrangements.

Olujobi concluded by praying that God would reward everyone who supported the family, noting that the large turnout at the event reaffirmed the Yoruba saying that “people are one’s greatest garment.”

“If there is anything you want, I can also tighten it further to the THISDAY newspaper style or make it shorter for publication,” he added.
