The Okesale Progressive Association, the umbrella body of indigenes of the Okesale clans in Ibedoyin Quarters, Iyin-Ekiti, has unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Senator (Dr) Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Senate Majority Leader of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Oluomo of Iyin-Ekiti.

The resolution was reached at the Association’s February 2026 monthly meeting after what members described as a comprehensive review of the Senator’s performance as the elected representative of Ekiti Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Pastor Jide Akinleye, and the Secretary, Engr. Niyi Faseluka, the Association expressed deep satisfaction with the Senator’s legislative effectiveness, leadership visibility, and commitment to constituency representation.

According to the statement, members noted that Bamidele’s position as Senate Majority Leader has translated into tangible gains for Ekiti Central, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and human capital development.

The Association particularly acknowledged projects and interventions attracted to Iyin-Ekiti and other communities within the district, stressing that such efforts have positively impacted residents and improved their overall quality of life.

The meeting further observed that the Senator has demonstrated what it described as “uncommon intentionality” in attracting the dividends of democracy to his constituents through strategic engagement, policy influence, and purposeful advocacy at the national level.

“This pattern of responsive leadership reflects a deep understanding of grassroots needs and a genuine commitment to inclusive development and people-centred governance,” the statement read.

The good people of the Okesale clans, therefore, placed on record their pride, confidence and appreciation in Senator Bamidele, describing him as a worthy ambassador of Iyin-Ekiti and a dependable voice for Ekiti Central Senatorial District.
