Former permanent secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Yemi Owoseni has described as laudable the feat achieved by tennis players who represented Ekiti state at the just concluded National Youth Games in Ilorin, Kwara state.

He noted that the feat was a ttestimony that the series of tournaments and programs organised for up and coming tennis players had yielded positive results.
Mr Owoseni also applauded the state tennis coach, Wumi Ogunsakin for his consistent victories at most youth tennis championships in the country urging him to keep the fire burning.
The multiple sports administrator award winner said paucity of funds would have deprived the tennis players the privilege to travel to Ilorin for the Youth Games but for his timely financial intervention and pragmatism of the tennis coach.
He noted that in its quest to further sustain the tempo of keeping young tennis players in their best shape prior to future competitions, another tennis championship will hold between tomorrow Thursday and Saturday this week.
The Tennis championship tagged Ekiti Female Open Tennis Championship is powered by Sebi Foundation in conjunction with Yetade Tennis Academy and Tennis Nigeria.
Aside prizes and gifts for outstanding participants, the tournament is also aimed at sharpening rhe skills of female tennis players in the state .
At least 16 girls are expected to feature in the three day event holding at the Tennis Center, Trade Fair complex, Fountain Hotel, Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti.
