NSCDC Officers’ Wives Donate Cash,Other Gifts Items To Families Of Late Officers

..Assure Bereaved Families of Continued Support

The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,NSCDC,Makinde Iskil Ayinla has reiterated the corps continued supports to the families of officers and men who have lost their lives or suffered permanent injuries during the course of serving their father’s land.

The commandant stated this during an empowerment programme organized for the widows and families of the dead officers by the Civil Defence Officers Wives Association(CIDOWA) at the State Command’s headquarters in Ilorin on Wednesday.

 

” One of the priorities of the Commandant General of the NSCDC Ahmed Abubakar Audi is to ensure adequate welfarism for the families of the officers who died or sustain injuries or suffered permanent disability during the course of serving their fatherland and he has enjoined state commandants and their wives to follow suit, hence the reason while we are here today is to support you( the widows)in our own little way”the commandant explained

He saluted the widows and other family members of the departed officers for maintaining good image of the family even in the absence of their bread winners adding that the corps would not relent in its determination to regularly reach out to the family.

In her goodwill message, the chairperson of Kwara State CIDOWA and wife of the Commandant Mrs S.A Makinde stated that the civil defence officers wives association( CIDOWA) were on the same page with the state commandant on the need to take the welfarism of the bereaved families with utmost concern.

According to the spokesman of the NSCDC in Kwara State Babawale Zaid Afolabi, selected widows were given 75,000 naira each by CIDOWA for them to start a business while other items were distributed to the families present. Among the beneficiaries are Mrs Olarinoye Wasiu Azeez, Mrs Grace Ajisafe, Mrs Yusuf Taye and Mrs Awoniyi Ruth among others.

In a lecture delivered during the programme titled “Coping With Stress at Home”, the lecturer Mrs Afolayan enjoined officers and men of the corps to give utmost priority to their health and to always find time to rest and unwind.
