NGO Enrolls Orphaned Girl in School!

By Gbenga Sodeinde

Blessing, a Nine-Year-Old orphan, stepped foot in School for the very first time, June 2023, marking
her first step into education.

Blessing, once a twin separated after the tragic loss of their parents, found solace in the care of a compassionate Neighbour.

With her caregiver facing health challenges, their focus shifted to providing basic sustenance and homeschooling, leaving Blessing devoid of the opportunity to step foot into a classroom for the past nine years.

However, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Gold Heart Foundation for Teens and Orphans, a ray of hope has emerged. This July, 2023, Blessing has now been enrolled in government primary school in Owo, Ondo state, starting at KG two, marking a significant milestone in her educational journey.

The executive director of the NGO, Moyinoluwa Ogundowole said “With determination and support, we are optimistic that Blessing will thrive and progress to the primary level in the upcoming session. As an organization, we will keep providing educational, nutritional and psychosocial support for her as she navigates through this new season of her.”

The school authorities appreciated the NGO for their all round assistance and they pledged their commitment to monitor her progress and feed the NGO back. The caregiver Mrs.Grace Okudalaye, showed her gratitude through prayers while appreciating the NGO.

The NGO team representatives (Mrs. Adigun and Mr. Scott Odgie) humbly appeal for material and financial assistance to sustain Blessing’s educational pursuits as the caregiver, burdened by health issues, is unable to work, and Blessing goes to school on an empty stomach sometimes.
