I ought to have shared this testimony with you all this morning but I couldn’t bring myself to type cos I had to be at many places today.
To the God of all flesh I have come to say thank you!!!
In 1993, I laid on the ground in the parlour and was watching Television, then we were living in my grandparent’s house. As a child then, I love to use matche stick in my ear hole whenever it scratches me.

On this very day at night, I asked my cousin to help me scratch my ear with a matche stick while I do same in return, it got to a point, I slept off.
The next day, we all went to school, our school was just a stone throw from the house, i was in class when I started to feel a very sharp pain in my right ear, it got to to a point that the pain was very unbearable and I started to cry. My class teacher asked and I told her I was feeling pain my right ear, my ear had swollen already, she tried to look into my ear and she discovered that there was an object in my ear.
I was taken back home, my class teacher told my mum that it looks like a match stick, I had to quickly confess that it was I and my cousin. She tried as much as she could and was able to remove the match stick from my ear. I remember I was given drugs that day.
Few days after, the pains came back, it was a very terrible pain on same ear. I was taken to the hospital and they discovered that there was a broken match stick in my ear but very close to my eardrum. It was then my cousin said that on that night the match stick broke into my ear, he was trying to use the small one to remove the one that had already gotten in and the other one fell into it again, so the 2nd one that got into it was what my mum removed.

They tried as much to see if they could pull it off but they couldn’t, the doctor told my mum that it is so close to my eardrum that any forceful attempt could burst it and my ear may end up bringing pus. The doctor later assured us that with time, it will fall off itself. That was how I began to live with a half matchstick in my ear since 1993.
The ear pain comes and goes, I remember that I missed some exams while in JSS 2 because of it. Whenever it gets to the time that occurence happened, the pains will start terribly. I won’t even be able to eat, the pains practically affected that side of my ear to the side of my mouth. Whenever I am stressed, it is my ear that will start paining me first o. It made my life so terrible.
At times, my ear just makes this dumb sound, then fiaaaam I will no longer hear anything with it, 3 to 5 days later, I will start hearing with it again. I was in one relationship like that, I told this guy about it, he said what if I eventually can no longer hear with it and the other ear too gets affected nko. I don deaf be that niyen. Oh Lord!

As I grew older, I began to pray, I lay my hands on it whenever I remember there is an object in my ear commanding it to fall off. I have put honey, anointing oil, sometimes when this pain starts, I have to put cotton wool to block it cos the more air goes in, the more painful it is. Will I be carrying cotton wool in my ear everywhere I go so I sometimes leave my ear and go through the pain. I cant even recieve calls with that ear, the pains that comes after it, chai. Do I even tell you the massive headache that usually accompanies this ear pain. I will sit on the floor and be crying like a baby.
Last year when my mum came visiting, she showed so much concern about it because I felt the pain during those times. I reminded her that it’s been 27yrs now that this match stick has been in my ear, she said erekere lo ko e si(it is your rough play that lead you to it)
Fast forward to yesterday morning, I started feeling this sharp pain in my ear, I said God please, I have a wedding to attend, I laid my hands on my ear and prayed because I know that if the pains starts fully, I won’t be able to step out of the house.

At the party, I started feeling pains again, ahhhh God. I was sha holding the pain.
I got back home, took my bathe, laid on the couch and was feeling bad because the pain had started to increase gradually.
With faith amidst the pain, I laid my hands on my ear and begged God to take away the pains so I could sleep yesterday night, I went into the bedroom and laid on the bed.
I laid on the bed with that side of my ear on the pillow, it was painful, I turned to the other side of my ear, it was painful as well. I said Ah God, what’s with my left ear again.
I then sat up since both ears have now started to pain me so much.
As I sat on the bed, I heard the spirit of God saying to me “GET UP”, I heard for the 2nd time ” GET UP, LOOK FOR SOMETHING TO PUT INTO YOUR EAR”, I stood immediately, went into the parlour, then my right ear has begun to make a funny sound like it was about to explode, I was still looking for what to put inside the ear, I found this hair pin on the shelve, I picked it up, dig it inside the ear, my hand was shaking, I kept using it to scratch it and lo and behold, I noticed the pin caught up with something, I began to drag it and that was how I drag these things out of my ear.
Brethren, I thought I was hearing with my right ear before but yesterday night, I knew it wasn’t. The way sounds became clearer immediately I removed it from my ear ehn……Ah God!!!! What can I give to you? Your daughter will forever be grateful to you for you are so mindful of me. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
