Muslim Couples Can Have Sex During Month of Ramadan-Says Cleric
The question about having sexual intercourse during the holy month of Ramadan have raised a lot of controversy but a learned cleric has come out to give proper explanation to this controversy.
According to Punch Newspaper, an Imam at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, mosque, Isale-Igbein, Prof Sherifdeen Kareem, has explained that Muslim couples can have intimacy during the month of Ramadan. He explained that such can only happen after they have broken their fast for the day and not while the fast is going on.
The learned cleric also explained that the opportunity for sexual intercourse is only for married couples. He said that Islam only permits married couples to engage in sexual intercourse
He said, “Muslims can copulate by the time they’ve taken their iftar, that’s after Solatul Mogrib. As long as they could eat, they are allowed to interact with their spouses till the time of Fajr.”
He also advised couples to keep away from each other during the day (while fasting) so as to avoid been carried away by emotions.
