Hosting the Legislative Consultative Council Meeting
Yesterday, I had the privilege of hosting the Legislative Consultative Council meeting, which brought together esteemed past Speakers, Deputy Speakers, Clerks, our current Deputy Speaker, and Principal Officers. It was a true pleasure to see such a strong turnout of dedicated individuals who have selflessly served our state in the legislative branch.
In accordance with Order XVI Rule 124 of the Rules and Standing Orders, this council serves as an advisory body to our House, and the discussions were filled with valuable insights and wisdom. The contributions from each member highlighted our shared commitment to enhancing our legislative practices and objectives.
During the meeting, we reflected on past achievements and strategized for a brighter future for the Ekiti State House of Assembly. The sense of camaraderie and shared purpose was evident, reminding us all of our crucial role in shaping the governance of our state.
I would also like to express my gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for providing an enabling environment that ensures the independence of the Legislative arm. His support is invaluable in our efforts to serve the people of Ekiti State effectively.
As we move ahead, I am inspired by the collective expertise present and the potential it holds to guide our House in achieving our vision and goals. Together, we will uphold the dignity and independence of our legislative institution, ensuring that our efforts resonate with the constituents we serve.
