Amidst the ebb and flow of challenges, my unwavering commitment to the people as their elected Speaker persists, transcending the ongoing recess and the strike action embarked upon by PASAN. The rhythm of service beats within me, and I continue to champion the voice of the people, breathing life into their aspirations and dreams. This is the diary of a relentless servant, unyielding in the pursuit of progress and prosperity. Let the pages come alive with the tales of resilience, determination, and unwavering service to the great people of Ekiti State.
Week 2 – Sensational Beginnings:
Sunday 5th: The week kicked off with a thunderous roar as I led the electrifying sensitization drives of RCCG Region 25 Youth towards the awe-inspiring Conference 2023, aptly tagged ‘DOMINATE.’ Together, we embarked on a journey to unlock our true potential and conquer new horizons.
And in the evening, I had the honor of attending a majestic birthday reception in honor of the marvelous Mrs. Daramola, who gracefully reached the golden age. She is not only the sister of my esteemed colleague, Hon. Tunde Oke, but also the beloved wife of the esteemed Prof. Oke from the prestigious management faculty in EKSU. It was an evening of celebration, where we reveled in the triumphs of a life well-lived.
Monday 6th: The week burst into flames as I graced the inauguration of the groundbreaking Gender-Based Violence Management Committee, led by the visionary Governor of Ekiti State, the indomitable Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. Joined by the radiant First Lady, we stood united against the darkness of violence, with a firm resolve to protect and empower. As Nelson Mandela once declared, ‘Freedom cannot be achieved unless the women have been emancipated from all forms of oppression.
Tuesday 7th: The winds of collaboration blew fiercely as I embarked on a captivating courtesy visit to the esteemed Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command. Together, we explored new avenues of partnership, forging a formidable alliance to combat crime and ensure the safety of our beloved state.
Wednesday 8th: The flames of the Conference sensitization drive burned brighter than ever, igniting the hearts and minds of all who crossed its path. Following my empowering visit to the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, the fervor for the upcoming Conference reached unprecedented heights.
Thursday 9th: A moment of extraordinary honor dawned upon us as we celebrated the remarkable achievements of my esteemed Deputy, the esteemed Rt. Hon. Bolaji Olagbaju. With her incredible generosity, she gave back to her constituents, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.
Friday 10th: The universe conspired to create an unforgettable symphony of surprises as I celebrated my own birthday. From my cherished family members to my loyal friends, esteemed colleagues, and illustrious leaders, the day was filled with awe-inspiring moments. As we rejoiced, we were reminded of the words of Dr. Seuss, ‘Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.’ The outpouring of love and well-wishes illuminated my path, invigorating me for the adventures that lie ahead.
And amidst the jubilant celebrations, a grand convergence took place, as over three thousand passionate youths from RCCG Region 25 gathered for the much-anticipated Conference. The atmosphere crackled with anticipation as we embarked on a transformative journey of spiritual and mental awakening. With a laser focus on career building, financial discipline, and the power of ICT, we were propelled towards greatness. As Engr. Olubunmi Obembe once said, ‘Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.’ The Conference unfolded like a tapestry of dreams, weaving together moments of enlightenment and inspiration. Each session kindled a fire within us, urging us to reach for the stars and embrace our limitless potential. As Pastor Ebun Olufemi urged, ‘Don’t just dream, dare to make those dreams your reality.’
The Conference continued its glorious reign, extending its transformative power until Sunday 12th. It became a sanctuary of diverse spiritual and mental awakening, where the flames of ambition and personal growth were fanned. Esteemed individuals such as Engr. Olubunmi Obembe, Pastor Ebun Olufemi, Pastor Desmond, Mr. Seun Fakuade, and Mr. Adedayo Gold graced us with their wisdom and expertise, igniting the spark of inspiration within each attendee. Their words resonated deeply, reminding us that success is not merely a destination but a journey of continuous self-improvement.”
As the Conference reached its zenith, my dear colleagues, led by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olagbaju, orchestrated a surprise birthday party at my humble abode on Sunday evening. The air crackled with joy and laughter as we celebrated the passing of another year. Surrounded by dear friends and cherished companions, the warmth of their love enveloped me, infusing the night with unforgettable memories.
Monday 13th ushered in a series of engaging interactions with various stakeholders at my residence in Ado Ekiti. Together, we delved into critical discussions and forged alliances that would propel our beloved state towards progress and prosperity. It was a testament to the power of collaboration and a shared vision for a brighter future.
Tuesday 14th took me to the enchanting town of Okemesi Ekiti, where I had the honor of chairing Hon. Johnson Oyekola Bode-Adeoye’s noble act of donating an ambulance to the community. The atmosphere was charged with gratitude and hope as we witnessed the tangible impact of compassion and service. Additionally, I graced the inauguration of the Hillside University of Science and Technology, a testament to our unwavering commitment to education and innovation.
Thursday 16th dawned with the prestigious 64th National Council on Health, where I stood as a distinguished guest. It was a momentous occasion as I delivered a goodwill message on Building Resilience and Inclusive Healthcare System for a Healthy Nigeria. Ekiti State shone brilliantly, as luminaries from the health sector gathered to exchange ideas and pave the way for a healthier nation.
Simultaneously, in the town of Ora Ekiti, I paid tribute to the remarkable Mrs. Adebowale, who gracefully retired after dedicating 35 years of her life to the noble profession of teaching. She is the beloved mother of Mr. Adedayo Adebowale, affectionately known as Dejohn, a loyal and committed member of Team Iseoluwa, my political creed. It was a moment of reverence and celebration, honoring the legacy of an extraordinary educator.
Furthermore, same day witnessed the heartwarming presentation of gratuity cheques to state retirees, a gesture that symbolized our unwavering commitment to the welfare and well-being of our esteemed public servants. The Governor himself presided over the ceremony, bestowing dignity and appreciation upon those who had dedicated their lives in service to the state.
Also on Friday 17, same gesture was extended to the retirees from the Local government service. It is about commitment at ensuring a sweet rest after labour to the state.
In the depths of the ordinary lies the extraordinary, waiting to be discovered.” – Unknown
As I reflect on this week’s whirlwind of activities, I am reminded of the profound truth captured in the above quote. What began as a seemingly ordinary week quickly transformed into an extraordinary journey filled with new experiences, personal growth, and unexpected discoveries.
Each day presented unique opportunities that pushed me outside of my comfort zone, challenging me to embrace the unknown and embrace the possibilities that lie beyond my familiar boundaries. From engaging in thought-provoking discussions to tackling complex tasks, I found myself delving into uncharted territories, realizing that true growth and fulfillment reside just beyond the edge of familiarity.
Thank you!
