Man Jailed For Scaling Fence of Obasanjo’s Home

A 33-year-old man, Seun Sowemimo,has been sentenced  to 12 months in prison without the option of a fine for scaling fence into private residence of Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State in attempt to steal from the home.

Penpushing reports that, the prosecutor, Olakunle Shonibare, had earlier told the court that  Sowemimo committed the crime  on April 1, adding that immediately he jumped into the compound, was caught by one of the security guards on duty.

The convict with no fixed address during the trial pleaded guilty on the two count charge  of theft and causing a breach of peace, while the prosecutor added that, the offence contravened the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun 2006. .

Penpushing further reports that, the magistrate, Olajumoke Somefun, said the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that Sowemimo was  guilty as charged and subsequently sentenced him.
