..Residents throw into happy mood
The Candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC for Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, Prince Okunjimi Odimayo has put smiles on the faces of several people in both Okitipupa and Irele Local government areas as they celebrate Yuletide season.
In his usual way to show love, care and affection to his people, the Ode-Irele born Prince has began to share several bags of rice among indigenes and residents of Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, regardless of their backgrounds, religion, ethnicity and political affiliation.
According to Odimayo’s media aide, Yemi Akintomide who disclosed the House of Representatives hopeful good gesture towards his constituents at Christmas, “the action is a token of Odimayo’s love to his people at Christmas, and a way to put smiles on their faces as well as food in their stomachs during the festive season.
“Since last night (Thursday), you would have noticed that several bags of rice were been moved from Arowolo Hotel, Irele to many locations in both Okitipupa and Irele for onward delivery to designated points where these items will be shared to millions of beneficiaries.
“Towns and villages in Okitipupa and Irele had been thrown into celebration mood since the news about Prince Jimi Odimayo lorry loads of rice and other food items spread across the Federal Constituency, which has made it pretty difficult to control the inflow of excited beneficiaries beseeching Arowolo Hotel,” Akintomide stated.
A close Associate to Prince Odimayo and former chairman of Irele local government, Barrister Femi Okunjemiruwa noted that such gesture as the sharing of food items to less privileges at festive period like this “is an annual ritual by the benefactor even when he was not contesting any political position; it’s not about him (Odimayo) political ambition, but it has became apparent and yearly practice to gifted the community during festive season, both Christianity and Islam celebrations.
Okunjemiruwa urged the beneficiaries to go about accessing their shares of the food items with decorum, orderliness and politeness, stressing that their were enough items on ground to go round the beneficiaries in both Okitipupa and Irele council areas.
The Director-General of Jimi Odimayo MHR’23 Campaign Council, Hon. Ola Oguntimehin, expressed gratitude to the candidate and benefactor over his kind gesture towards the people, adding that the move will go a long way to empower and add value to the beneficiaries and their households celebrations during the Yuletide season.
“I am happy that many people and their families would be happy and full of pleasantries as they celebrate with utmost modesty and high sense of participation in this season of love, peace, affection and togetherness,” Oguntimehin stated.
