At this juncture, it is safe to advise any political party planning to embark on a continuity journey in any State in Nigeria to get a man like Governor Oyebanji who understands how well to handle continuity of governance .
Recall that Ekiti was blessed with a cargo airport during the tenure of former Governor Kayode Fayemi to boost the state’s agriculture , investment and economy of the people.
However, recognizing the potential of the airport , Governor Oyebanji is complementing the efforts of the former governor even beyond expectations with the massive construction currently ongoing at the airport.
On Sunday, the Office of Community Communications team visited the airport , and the developments observed at the airport were remarkably unbelievable. In fact , these pictures didn’t do enough justice to the amazing works done at the airport .
Numerous new facilities have been built, with others still under construction. Such as ;
– Control tower
– Emergency Operations Office
– Fire service station
– Car parks
– Weather station
– Power house with a brand new 500KVA generator and other facilities.
Oh the runway ,though not yet finished but it is super fascinating .
Research shows that most commercial runways are between 2 to 3Km ,if designed for large passenger aircraft . Some could be 4Km. Ekiti airport’s runway is 3.3Km long . At the end of the runway is 1Km and before it ,is another 1Km.
All works will be completed soon as workers are on site everyday including Sundays . And when that is done , the airport will make the Ekiti State a prime destination for investors and notable development.
