Brazil, this weekend spoke in the language of the gods as the most celebrated Babalawo Ifa priest and scholar , Prof. Wande Abimbola addressed the Yorubas in Brazil.
Babalawo Abimbola advised Yorubas in Brazil and around the world to use Yoruba , the divine language of the gods to excel in all their activities “ irumole speaks and listens in Yoruba “ he said
The Awise Ifa Agbaye asked the Yorubas to seek the Knowledge of Ifa and use it to mend their wounds, he advised all to harp on Yoruba culture , tradition and religion, “ it is our heritage , let us preserve it “ he said while commending the efforts of all Yorubas in Brazil.
The Yoruba Icon mentioned his outmost support for the Yoruba nation , he advised Yorubas to combate modern day slavery with what their ancestors left for them , he said the Orishas are there to intervene when properly approached.
A conference chat organized , coordinated and moderated by the Brazil based Yoruba artist, writer and journalist, Adeyinka Olaiya , the foremost Ifa priest said Ifa can confront science, he cited the book of Prof. Jegede from University of Ibadan , who in his book linked the binary code of computer science to Ifa , he said these codes existed in Ifa even before computer science was invented .
The former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ife , now Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Nígeria, Prof Wande Abimbola said Ifa is the answer, it is the philosophy of life , it contains medicine, engineering, sciences and all you can imagine.
Transmitted via zoom this Sunday, 29th of August , the conference counted with participants from United States, United Kingdom, Nígeria, Canada, Germany , China , Japan , Cuba , Dublin and several other countries around the world.
Ifa priest and cultural ambassador, Adegboyega Nojeem co-moderated the event that was practically a celebration of divine talks from Babalawo Wande Abimbola to all Yorubas in Brazil and around the world , Professor Abimbola said the Yoruba ethnic group is a divine gift from Olodumare to mankind.
Some of the important dignitaries present at the conference included Oba Ogboni Iwashe Agbaye, Kabiyesi Adekunle Aderounmu, Alagba Peter Olawole, Babalawo Abifarin, Alh.Musibau Akanni, Elder Micho Adebowale, Alexander Adekunle Caxton Martins , Prof. Felix Ayoh Omidire, Dr. Dele Yusuf, Uthman Dan Bakare, and Olunike Ajani.
Others are Princess Adedoja Ogunwusi, Alh.Aminat Ibironke, Ivan Pereira, Ifabiyi Adesegun Akanni, Omowe Mavó Adelson, Iya Celeste Ifakemi, Iya Rosangela Ludovico , Fatai Akanbi Valentine, Larry, Ibrahim Alabi , Adekunle Olaiya, Prof. Omoide, Prof, Adewunmi Mr.Adeniran , Iya Adriana Queiroz Eloy and hundreds of participants.
The conference ended with prayers and verses of Ifa from Babalawo Abimbola for the Yoruba race
He thanked the initiatives in Brazil for always promoting the Yoruba culture and religion “ the content and the richness of his prayers, the Ifa verses cited in Yoruba to round up his final prayer is enough for my PHD thesis “ Brazilian writer said.
