Lady Remanded For 21 Days In Kirikiri For Assaulting Policeman

LAGOS, Nigeria – Less than 24 hours after Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti was arraigned for assault, the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos command on Tuesday arraigned a lady, Ms Olufunmilayo Brioluwa for assaulting a police officer.

Brioluwa assaulted the policeman at Ogombo road, Lekki, Lagos State during a stop and search and she squeezed the uniform on the neck of the smiling officer, shoving him with all sense of impunity.

Brioluwa was arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in Eti-Osa, Local Government for assaulting a police officer on duty.

Brioluwa who was arraigned before Magislate Alao M.O pleaded not guilty to the charges when read to her. Justice Alao granted the plea by the police prosecutor to remand her in prison for 21 days pending investigation.

She has been remanded at Kikiri Prison  until June 6, 2023 when the case will come up for trial.

  1. I think she is a woman from “common family’ like many of us the poor masses. One was remanded for 48 hours nay be because he is a celebrity. Naija land of double standard. Nigeria Courts are not for poor masses. No! No! No! They are not the last recourse for voiceless, they are avenues of frustration for poor Nigeria. However, I don’t support any kind of harrassement of police officers or any person.
