just In: Ekiti Speaker Commiserates with Fire Victims at Emure

The Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Olubunmi Adelugba has commiserated with victims of an inferno that gutted a multimillion naira furniture workshop in Emure Ekiti on Thursday morning.

Rt Hon Adelugba, who visited the scene of the incident at Ajilete area, opposite St Paul Anglican Church, expressed shock over the massive destruction of various equipment and finished products at the shop.

The Speaker, who was represented by her Chief of Staff, Prince Toyin Olajide, appealed to the state government, Emure local government and well wishers all over the state and beyond to come to the aid of those whose properties were destroyed by the inferno.

She urged those affected by the unfortunate incident to be grateful to God that no life was lost, and as well be hopeful that all is not lost.

While sympathising with all those affected, Rt Hon Adelugba called on all relevant government agencies in charge of giving succour to those in grief for assistance.

Items destroyed in the inferno included a Lister generator, spraying machine, sewing machine Processor Engine, Chairs, Iron door, roofing sheet, among others

In his call for assistance, a furniture maker, Boje Opeyemi whose workshop was affected, said his source of livelihood has been destroyed by the inferno.

He therefore appealed to the state government, the Speaker and others for assistance to rise again.

He remarked that all his equipment, machinery and furniture displayed for sales worth over 100million were destroyed by the early morning inferno.

Others that included Alaba Taiwo, a furniture maker and Ogunsua Abiodun, a welder also lamented over their loss and called for government assistance to alleviate their suffering.
