Ekiti state government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Dr John Kayode Fayemi through the office of Special Assistant on Youth and Students Matters has celebrated and honoured 25 young people who have distinguished themselves and made Ekiti proud in their various endeavors at the epoch making event of Ekiti Youth Outstanding Personalities 2021(OMOLUABI Awards) which was held on Friday, 29th October, 2021 at Lady Jibowu hall, Government house, Ado-Ekiti.
The historic event which was part of the activities to celebrate JKF2@3 anniversary was attended by the wife of Ekiti state Governor, Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Fayemi as the Special Guest of Honour and other important dignitaries which include the commissioner of youth and sports in Ekiti state, Hon. Michael Awopetu, the SSA on Youth and Student matters, Hon. Olalekan Soyombo Esq, Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilization, Hon. Ijidale, Commissioner for Environment, representatives of student body, youth leaders, Speaker of Ekiti Youth Parliament and other government functionaries.
In his welcome address, the Special Assistant to Governor on Youths and Student matters, Mr Moses Olusanya Ademiloye(JBS) showed his appreciation to the wife of Ekiti state Governor, Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Fayemi and other guests for taking time out of their tight schedule to attend the historic event.
He furthered by highlighting the various achievements of JKF led administration in the last three years especially in the area of youth development which has completely changed the narrative from what it used to be under past administrations.
Mr Moses also acknowledged the motherly role and support given to Ekiti youths by H.E, Erelu Bisi Fayemi since the inception of this present administration.
He added that Ekiti youths would forever be grateful to JKF led administration and Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Fayemi for the courage given to them to develop more on their talent.
The governor’s aide further submitted that out of 1000 plus entries, 25 young people who have excelled in their various endeavors were shortlisted for the awards.
The
Commissioner for Youths and Sports development, Hon. Michael Awopetu corroborated the submission of the Governor’s aide by adding that JKF led administration has with the signing into law of the Sport Trust
Fund opened way for sports development in Ekiti state.
The wife of Ekiti state Governor, Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Fayemi congratulated all the awardees and added that Ekiti are very proud of them.
The first Lady however charged the awardees to always remember the son of whom they are in any place they find themselves.
“We are very proud of and wherever you, remember the son of whom you are”
The first lady was presented an award in recognition of her motherly role and selfless contributions towards youth development in Ekiti state.
Also, the Special Assistant on Youth and Student matters, Mr Moses Ademiloye was presented an award of excellence for his representing well the interest of youths in Ekiti state.
The 25 young Ekiti people that received the outstanding personalities awards for their excellence in various field which include, Academics, Invention, Heath care services, comedy, Music, Activism, ICT, Agric business, photograph and others are, Henrich Bankole Akomolafe, Adebimpe Oyebade, Oluwaseun Ayodele Adesola Possible, Olabintan Odunola, Oluwatosin Adedipe, Dr. Oluwasegun Michael Ibrahim, Dr. Fatimah Morenikeji Adubiaro, Bola Omo Ekiti, Ajayi Oluwatosin, Teniola Apata, Bayo Omoboriowo, Oluwatosin Ogunkuade, Aduragbemi Victor, Sola Mathew, Oluwatoba Ayo Fatunla, Femi Williams, Michael Peculiar, Mr Henry Ayodeji Ogunkorode, Famuagun Adefunke, Tanimola, Oluwabamidele Olanipekun, Abimbola Aladejare, Omowumi Ogunrotimi, and Prince Idowu Ilara.
