It is an undeniable fact that many hopes have been dashed, nay traumatically crashed and fatally crushed on the altar of unfulfilled electoral promises.
Stories abound of many politicians who had promised to build gigantic castles in the phantasmagoric planet for the electorate but such tall dreams never became a reality!
Quite frankly, the degree of disillusionment on the part of the teeming electorate culminating in political apathy in the polity is abysmal.
The valuable import of the Aristotelean political concept of “homo-politicus”, meaning, man is a Political Animal who must as a matter of patriotic expediency, fulfil his civic responsibilities via voting and being voted for, has fallen on the Pandering Sea of irreverence, and desperately struggling for survival!
The fact that the entire global political space is flooded with homo-economicus, that is, a horde of political hunksters, whose major tool of trade is “impoverish them, give them fish in order to plunder their Commonwealth” makes an average Nigerian Electorate to be wary of any decent folk, with good intention to serve his people, but are often mistrusted for wearing the usual Nigerian political toga.
Put succinctly, this unfortunate trend in Nigerian politics has resulted in total distrust of apparently true leaders who would have made a positive mark on the Nigeria’s political landscape.
Cursorily engaging an average Nigerian electorate in a political discourse will earn you a rude awakening : “ijo ti a ti ati n dibo ere kilari nibe,” meaning, what benefits have we derived from our continuous discharging of civic obligation through franchise?
“Is there no more profitable Balm in the Political Gilead of our dear Nation ?”
Things apparently are turning in a widening gyre. And hopelessly, the falcon seems not to hear the falconer any more. For things not to fall apart, Ekiti North Senatorial District needs Chief Segun Ajibulu to effect more positive changes we long for!
While the ‘Waiting for the Triumphant Bus Moment endures, a Beacon of Hope has just lacerated through the undulating hills of Ikole Local Government in Ekiti, harping on the urgent need for Ekiti North Senatorial District to straighten all crooked political paths leading to the emergence of the IPAO- born SEGUN AJIBULU , who has the capacity to TRANSLATE VISION into REALITY to secure a place in the Red Chambers come February, 2023.
Now is the moment for all and sundry to make the political dream of the non-assuming, proactive, game-changing Political David from Ipao Ekiti , Segun Ajibulu a Dream comes true. Let the Ekiti North enable him through the power of franchise to put paid to the life threatening woes of misgovernance , projects abandonment and dearth of returns of FULL DIVIDENDS of DEMOCRACY to the Ekiti North Senatorial District electorate.
It is like restating an obvious fact that Segun Ajibulu’s cast-iron determination and commitments to serve his people better and a little bit extra in an era when serving humanity in TRUTH and REALITY is fast becoming a rarity in our clime, is unwavering.
At this juncture, for the sake of a balanced discourse, it is germane to ask some pertinent questions: Does Segun AJIBULU have what it takes to make a remarkable difference in the Political Arena of Ekiti North Senatorial District?
Is he truly a Symbol of the long -awaited New Dawn LEADERSHIP and Hope in Ekiti North Senatorial District? What Magic Wand does he possess in his arsensal to make more cutting-edge and positive changes in Ekiti North Senatorial District? Can he translate his Senatorial District into an Oasis of peace, freedom and prosperity?
The answers to the above questions are not far-fetched!
Fully armed with Carrie Lam’s assuring statement that :” Governance under a Chief Executive or Representative elected by Universal Sufferage should give fresh impetus to ECONOMIC and LIVELIHOOD POLICIES”, Chief SEGUN AJIBULU is set to deliver on all his electoral promises to the members of his Senatorial District if given the opportunity to represent them at the Red Chambers.
His WORDS are his BOND!
Henry Wadsworth Longfellows assertion that “we judge ourselves by what we feel capable of doing while others are judged by what they have already done.” is not a far cry from truism.
The APC Chieftain, Segun Ajibulu’s mission is not to judge what others have done right or not rather his main task is to explore uncultivated life -changing avenues in governance and break new productive grounds, which will make Ekiti North Senatorial Zone a touchstone for Developmental Heights and an envy of other Senatorial Districts in Ekiti State
Chief SEGUN AJIBULU, therefore, is of the candid opinion that any Public Office holder who does not engage in Self-appraisal is bound to fall short of the electorate’s expectations.
It is against the backdrop of the aforementioned that he has IDENTIFIED the pressing NEEDS of his CONSTITUENTS, MAPPED OUT STRATEGIES for meeting them by religiously deploying the SMART TECHNIQUE of leadership style thereby making the Spacecraft of the Developmental Programmes intended for his Senatorial Zone soar into orbit.
The acronym SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achieveable, and Realistic programmes vis-a-vis ways of implementing and assessing such cardinal goals in the areas of EDUCATION, YOUTH EMPLOYMENT/EMPOWERMENT, PROGRAMMES FOR ARTISANS, CARE FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE, PROVISION OF SOCIAL AMENITIES, INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT and other people- oriented projects.
In consonance with Steve Job’s leadership thought, Segun Ajibulu in his usual characteristic of a leader, knows the way , goes the way, and shows the way.
He will leave no stone unturned in subjecting each of his people-oriented projects to specific, measurable, achieveable, realistic and time-bound implementation yardsticks.
Benjamin Franklin’s moving quote that ” an investment in knowledge pays the best interest”, in no little measure, has propelled Chief Segun Ajibulu to blaze the trail through designing for implementation a Scholarship Scheme for Ekiti North Senatorial District students.
Payment of WAEC/NECO exams fees and organizing extra mural classes for Secondary school Students will be given a place of pride in his Educational Assistance Programmes.
Deeply motivated by Karl von Clausewitz’s position that war or insecurity is the continuation of politics by other means, the Ekiti North Senatorial Hopeful has resolved to sponsor bills which will positively overhaul and revitalize both national and state security architectures.
The thrust of his lease-of – life giving programmes shall also be extended to the areas of Agriculture, Social Welfare, Water and Light supply in Ekiti North Senatorial District.
Put simply, prominent amongst other laudable projects to be embarked upon are road constructions and rehabilitations, distributions of Transformers, sinking Boreholes for portable water supply, supply of Solar lights and construction of State-of-the-art school buildings.
Apart from the physical projects, Chief Segun Ajibulu will also put in place some people-oriented empowerment programmes which will be channelled towards making his Constituents to be self-reliant and economically fortified.
The empowerment programme in its first phase will empower over 500 women and youths in diverse areas of skills acquisition in Ekiti North Senatorial District.
Monthly Welfare cum financial assistance for the Old People will be an integral thrust of humanitarian programmes of Chief Segun Ajibulu if voted as Senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial Zone.
The Empowerment of Farmers, Training cum Start- up funding across the Agriculture Value Chain , Loan Scheme for Women and Artisans, Empowerment in Agricultural Fish Rearing will be given priority attention.
Chief Segun Ajibulu has in the offing, concrete plans to make his Constituents to become compliant technology-wise.An army of Tech-Savvy Constituents is about to rise in Ekiti North Senatorial Zone of Ekiti State.
It is also part of his manifesto of transformation to set up ICT Centres, a Library Facility and Teenage Book Club , the actualisation of which will go a long way to buttress the assertion that “Readers are Leaders”and other life-changing programmes of Segun Ajibulu will make him a Numero Uno Political Phenomenon in Ekiti North Senatorial District.
All these laudable life-changing programmes are achieveable if the teeming Ekiti electorate can co-create good governance by voting enmasse for Segun Ajibulu.
It is no blind optimism that good governance cannot be outsourced and yet the electorate will be happy consumers. It can only be EARNED via collective efforts of the citizenry in Ekiti North Senatorial District.
