The Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, Ekiti chapter is set to honour Rev’d Canon Engr. Samuel Oluwafemi OGUNDARE MNSE, MNICE FNIProcE MNISafety.
The investiture ceremony of Engr. Ogundare will hold on 18th October, 2024 at All Saints guest house hall, Pet-tim estate, Adehun, Ado-Ekiti.
Ogundare Samuel Oluwafemi born in 1984 is a seasoned Civil Engineer and procurement expert from Ise-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. He is 40 years old, married to his lovely wife, and blessed with children.
Ogundare holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Ado-Ekiti (2006) now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. He has also obtained Certifications in Public Procurement (2020) and Contract Management (2020) from Governance Global Practices programme of the World Bank.
Ogundare’s career spans various roles, including Teacher/Instructor at Aka-Offot Community Secondary School, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom (2007-2008) during his NYSC days, Rose through the ranks as a Civil Engineer at the Ministry of Works and Transportation, Ado-Ekiti (2008-2016), and now Director, Road and Civil Engineering Procurement Department, Bureau of Public Procurement, Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti (2016-Present). He has also managed projects for UNDP Anti-Corruption Initiative and e-procurement portal deployment to Ekiti State. He served as Technical Expert for Ekiti State Bureau of Public Procurement Women Inclusion Initiative.
Ogundare has received several awards and recognitions for his excellence in leadership and procurement, including Integrity ICON Award (2023), Special Award of Excellent Leadership (2008), and Best Officer of the Year Award at the Bureau of Public Procurement 2019 and 2020 respectively.
He is a Fellow of Nigeria Institution of Procurement Engineer (FNIProcE), a Corporate Member of Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE), Member of Nigeria Institution of Civil Engineer (MNICE), Nigeria Institution of Safety Engineers (MNISafetyE), and Registered Member of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Ogundare has authored several publications and presented papers at international conferences, showcasing his expertise in procurement and engineering. He has held various leadership positions, including General Secretary, Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineer, Ekiti Chapter, Assistant Secretary, Nigerian Society of Engineer, Ado-Ekiti branch (2016), and Chairman Building Committee, NCCF, Akwa Ibom State Chapter (2008) to mention but a few.
Ogundare was ordained a Priest in the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion by the former Bishop of Ekiti Anglican Diocese, Most Rev’d Dr. Christopher Temitayo OMOTUNDE in 2013 and was later preferred a Canon of the church in 2021.
Ogundare is a devoted husband to his wife, Mrs. Ogundare Olubunmi Kikelomo, and a loving father to their three children; Jemima, Joel and Jude. He resides in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, where he is actively involved in community development initiatives and capacity building for upcoming generation.
In his leisure, Ogundare enjoys reading, traveling, singing, and watching soccer.
With over 18 years of experience in engineering, procurement, and project management, Ogundare continues to demonstrate exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for excellence, solidifying his position as a respected figure in the engineering family and procurement community.
