The 2nd International Colloquium conference on indigenous religions of Africa held last Tuesday at the Institute of African Studies , Obafemi Awolowo University celebrated international scholars and participants of high reputes who discussed the way forward to reviving the dying indigenous religions of Africa.

A conference moderated by Prof. Felix Ayoh Omidire , the Director of the institute of African Studies , OAU, Ile-Ife , Nigeria , counted with scholars from the United States of America, Jamaica, Germany , Brazil , Nígeria , South África.
The discussants spoke on several issues, they also deliberated on how the indigenous religions of Africa can be revived in Africa and in the diaspora , they tackled the reasons why the indigenous religions of Africa are still not very well encouraged in Africa and in the diaspora, they said that colonialism actually had strong and negative effects in the progress of the indigenous religions of Africa, they suggested the way forward.
The conference which had the support and initiatives of PANAFSTRAG, a Pan-African Organization created by General Ishola Williams (Rtd) discussed the way forward . Important suggestions were put forward from all discussants present at the event , they suggested that events of this manner should be encouraged so that the Africans at home and in the diaspora can always have full knowledge of the real indigenous religions of Africa and how these religions can be preserved
The discussants and scholars present at the event which was realized via zoom included Dr.Joel Mokhoathi from South África, Prof. John Ayotunde Bewaji from Jamaica , Rev. Dr. Ulrich Kleinhempel from Germany, Dr. Tanesha Gibbs from Jamaica , Prof. Felix Ayoh Omidire from Nigeria, Adeyinka Olaiya from Brazil , Prof. Bayo Omolola from the United States of America and several other participants who spoke and asked questions
The event was closed with thanks from Prof. Omidire to all discussants , participants , and to PANAFSTRAG
