Heritagenewsng has confirmed that the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu was picked up in Kenya without connection with Brazillian government, contrary to insinuation that his arrest had Brazilian government’s hands.
The IPOB leader, was facing charges bordering on treasonable felony following his campaign for the secession of Republic of Biafra and he jumped bail and sneaked out of the country.
Following his re-arrest and extradition to Nigeria during the weekend, rumour had it that Nnamdi kanu was captured in Brazil, or United Kingdom
But investigation by the heritagenewsng has confirmed that he was actually not arrested in Brazil, and neither did his arrest has Brazilian government’s connection.
Brazil Immigration and Federal Police have disclaimed the report, saying Brazil should not be linked to his arrest.
The authorities of the immigration services , International police (Interpol) and the federal police in Brazil said that nothing of such happened in Brazil and has no link to his arrest.
The authorities reaffirmed that the IPOB leader did not pass through the immigration services in Brazil as his informations are not to be traced in the immigration systems in Brazil.
The Federal police and the immigration services at the Guarulhos international Airport Brazil confirmed to Heritage news that Brazil functions with procedures.
Specifically, the official of the federal police, Dr.Fabiano said that the news is false and that the INTERPOL is part of the Federal Police, it must at first adhere to the regulations of the territory where a suspect is arrested.
He said that nothing of such happened in Brazil, the official also confirmed that it is impossible in the Brazilian territory to whisk away somebody with a private jet since all International airlines in the Brazilian territory are checked and are under the control of the Federal services.
On how he was captured, heritagenewsng investigation revealed that the IPOB leader was arrested in Kenya was initially taken to be ‘a minor immigration issue’, which later turned out to be a clear act of ‘strawmen’ and subsequently attracted the involvement of the Nigerian diplomatic officials.
Giving an insight into how Kanu was arrested, Intersociety, in a statement signed by its Principal Officers, Emeka Umeagbalasi, Obianuju Igboeli, and Chidimma Udegbunam, said the; “scuffle attracted Nigerian diplomatic officials and security attachés at Nairobi, the country’s capital.
The leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, was arrested on the Sat night of June 26, 2021, in Kenya, a member of the African Union.
He had travelled to Israel, having transited from Germany to Israel before heading to Kenya, where he was intercepted on Saturday night, 26th June 2021.
He appeared to have been trapped by some persons of his own tribal stock over some lingering issues.
His arrest was initially taken to be a minor immigration issue, which later turned out to be a clear act of ‘strawmen’ and subsequently attracted the involvement of the Nigerian diplomatic officials and security attachés at Nairobi, the country’s capital.
He was later on Sunday, 27th June 2021 handed over to Nigerian security attaches and diplomatic officials after providing paper evidence that he is being wanted in Nigeria for the continuation of his trial where he jumped bail and escaped from judicial justice.”
