How Brazilians Value Akara More Than Yorubas-Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri was on Twitter last evening to share the experience he had when he travelled to Brazil. Reno Omokri travels a lot and he uses his social media platforms to document his experience for people to learn.

This time around Reno Omokri educated his followers via his Twitter handle by letting them know that black Brazilians are actually more into Yoruba than we in Nigeria, he noted that it was when he travelled to Brazil that he found out the meaning of Akara (beans cake).

He said Brazilians call it “Akara je”, were “A ka” means count and “ra” means buy but the Brazilians added “je”, which means eat. So, all together it means, we count, buy and eat.

Reno Omokri then called on the Nigerian government and states in the south west to send delegations to Brazil and Cuba to study how they have used Yoruba culture to create a religion.

Its interesting to know that Yoruba language is being embraced outside the shores of Nigeria, but to say they are more into Yoruba than we in Nigeria is amusing, made me wonder if they can be more into Yoruba than we the original owner, I want to believe they learnt the language from us and they can’t be more perfect at speaking the language than us.
