The Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Dr. Habibat Adubiaro, has lauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji as a dedicated advocate for the people of Ekiti, emphasizing his commitment to promoting arts, culture, and tourism. According to Dr. Adubiaro, these sectors form one of the key pillars of his administration, demonstrating his love for the rich heritage of the state.
Dr. Adubiaro made this statement on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti while receiving members of the Ekiti Dialect Noble Foundation during a courtesy visit to her office. She commended the foundation for its efforts in preserving and promoting the Ekiti dialect, noting that many children proudly displayed their language skills on social media, garnering global appreciation.
She highlighted that Governor Oyebanji is fully supportive of such initiatives and is determined to ensure the Ekiti language and culture thrive both within and beyond the state.
“The governor is ready to support this initiative so that our language can be fully established wherever we go,” she remarked.
In furtherance of his commitment to cultural preservation, Governor Oyebanji has commenced the construction of a befitting arts and culture center in the state. This, according to Dr. Adubiaro, will provide a platform to enhance the recognition and preservation of the Ekiti dialect and culture.
The Ekiti Dialect Noble Foundation, led by its chairman Omoniyi Dabi, aims to foster unity among Ekiti sons and daughters worldwide and promote the importance of the Ekiti dialect. The visit was part of activities to mark the one-year anniversary of the foundation’s efforts to promote the Ekiti language. The foundation is a registered organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and works in partnership with the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts and Culture.
