Ekiti State has witnessed tremendous progress since Governor Oyebanji assumed office on 16th October 2022. His voyage has repositioned the Land of Honour on a better platform Six Months after due to courage and determination to make the State a wonderful place to be.
Oyebanji’s led administration has focused on harnessing the little resources earned to promote economic growth, development, improve healthcare delivery, enhance security, and develop infrastructure amongst others.
Governor Oyebanji is a seasoned administrator with numerous years of experience in both public and private sector. Prior to his election as Governor, he served in rank and file of government till Secretary to the State Government under JKF2 government.
Since assuming office as Governor, Oyebanji has prioritized the development of the state’s economy, with particular emphasis on prompt payment of workers and pensioners with attentions to where infrastructural deficit, synergy building with investors for state elevation, tourism’s revitalization like standard uplifting of Ikogosi warm springs to world class and Ipole Iloro water fall amongst others.
Ekiti State is blessed with fertile land, suitable for the cultivation of various crops, including rice, maize, yam while Governor Oyebanji has further promised to look into farmers dealings sterling ways to add values to the State development in income generating.
To this end, he has initiated several programmes aimed at supporting farmers and encouraging private sector investment in the state.
One of Governor Oyebanji’s forward programmes is the Ekiti State knowledge Zone which has attracted federal government interest for prompt support, which seeks to promote economic growth and development through the creation of an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
In addition to promoting economic development, Governor Oyebanji has also made significant strides in improving healthcare delivery in the state. Under his leadership, the state government has invested ongoing renovations and equipping of healthcare facilities across the state with sustainable promise for his led government to train healthcare workers to improve the quality of care provided to patients.
Governor Oyebanji has also prioritized the security of the state. He has worked closely with security agencies to enhance their capacity to maintain law and order in the state. The governor has also launched several community-based programmes aimed at promoting peace and reconciliation among different stakeholders in the state.
These synergies have helped to reduce tensions and promote social cohesion in the state.
Another area where Governor Oyebanji has made significant strides is in the area of infrastructure development. The governor has initiated several road construction projects aimed at opening up rural areas and improving access to markets. The government has also embarked on the construction of several bridges and culverts to enhance connectivity across the state.
His peace meeting with former Governor Segun Oni at his Ifaki-Ekiti country home is another attestation for good governance, where he opined to establish the council of former Governors for value sustained connection to Ekiti State. To crown it all, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has brought a wealth of experience and expertise to the governance of Ekiti His focus on promoting economic development, improving healthcare delivery, enhancing security, and developing infrastructure has yielded significant results in the state. With his vision and leadership, Ekiti State is poised for greater growth and development in the years to come.
