The Secretary to Ekiti state government, Dr(Mrs) Habibat Omolara Adubiaro has said that the state governor, His Excellency, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji is committed to grassroot development.
Adubiaro said this when she received in her office, Forum of local government Secretaries and LCDAs in Ekiti state on Wednesday. She stated that the governor knows the value of local government administration as the first point of call that is more closer to the people and ready to give it all the necessary support.
The SSG stated further that she was not unaware of some challenges they might be facing as Secretaries in their various local governments and LCDAs but pleaded with them to exercise patience with the Governor as their demands would be met as time goes on.
She also called on them to pray for the success of Gov. Biodun Oyebanji’s administration.
She said, “I really appreciate your courtesy visit. Nobody will be a politician that will not know your value. The Governor, His Excellency, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji knows the value of local government administration as the first point of call that is more closer to the people at the grassroot.
“Let me use this medium to reiterate the commitment of the Governor towards grassroot development. He is ready to prioritize the welfare of the people at the grassroot and give all necessary support to local government functionaries to enable them thrive well in their various tasks”
She furthered that, “I am not unaware of the challenges you are facing as Secretaries in your various local governments and LCDAs. I just want to plead to you to exercise patience with this new administration. All your demands will be attended to as time goes on.
“What the Governor needs from you is your total support and prayer for him to be successful in office”
Earlier, the Chairman of the Forum of local government Secretaries and LCDAs who is also the Secretary of Efon- Alaaye local government, Mr. George Idowu on behalf of his colleagues congratulated Dr. Adubiaro on her appointment as SSG and assured her of all necessary support.
The forum showed their readiness to work with the state government for the improvement of life of the people at the grassroot. They commended the administration of Gov. Biodun Oyebanji for the upward review of impress received by local government appointees from 50% which they were receiving under the immediate past administration but however called for more improvement of the welfare of local government appointees and workers.
He said, “We are ready to work with the state government for the betterment of the people at the grassroot.
“We want to use this medium to commend the Governor for the upward review of our impress from 50% we are receiving under the previous administration. But we still want more. We want the state government to do more towards the improvement of welfare of local government workers and appointees. The Governor should also move more closer to the people at the grassroot”
The local government Secretaries after their meeting with the SSG, presented her with a roll up banner.
