Management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has, at the weekend, sent warning signals to all 100 level students of the institution to dismiss as fake, the news bulletin making the rounds, that the postponement of their CBT exams by a week since Friday, March 30, has been suspended and they could resume for the exams tomorrow, Monday, April 3, 2023.

A news bulletin alleged to have been signed and written by the Registrar, Mr. Mufutau Ibrahim, and purportedly addressed to the 100 level students of FUOYE, has gone viral on the social media, directing all 100L students to resume for their CBT exams on Monday, April 3.

But in swift reaction, Management of the institution has clarified that such information about 100L students being directed to resume for CBT exams on April 3, is false and should be ignored.

Mr. Ibrahim explained that the online scammers and rascals had deployed their unwise trick to confuse the 100 level students simply because he released a memo which directed that stale students from 300 level and above in the Ikole campus of the varsity should resume for their CBT starting from Monday, April 3, 2023.

“But the mischief makers, hell bent on caus5ing choas, had edited the dates and level of students on the same memo in order to deceive unsuspecting 100L students and cause chaos and confusion,” he said.

The Registrar also noted that the fake news peddler was so foolish and idiotic to have put April 4, 2023 on the memo he purportedly directed the 100L students to act on, a day before the date on his memo! April 3, 2023.

“This is a show of shame and stark illiteracy and a failure of his or her attempt to scam students and cause confusion.

“Such fake news peddlers are hereby warned to desist from this nefarious act as efforts are in top gear to get hold of them and make them to face the music.

“Our dear students of the 100 levels are enjoined to adhere to the earlier notice of the one week suspension of their CBT exams so as to ensure that their exams are conducted in a most convenient, peacefully and serene environment. Thank you”, The Registrar said.
