FPA Rector: One Year In Office And Birthday Celebration of An Icon
The staffs and students of the Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti were full of joy and happiness while celebrating the birthday of the Rector of the Institution today 23-02-2024.
The day started with a facility tour in which the MEDIA and camera men took a look at the various projects in which the Rector was able to achieve as regards his one year in office .
Various news houses were in attendance. Radio and Tv stations like New Cruise FM, Fresh FM, Radio Nigeria , Midas Radio, EKTV , AIT TV etc. Newspaper offices like The Guardians , Daily Trust, Vanguard, This Day and Sun newspaper to mention a few .
The Press conference started with an opening prayer by one of the key officers of the school. Then, there were introductions of various personalities present at the conference. The head of PIPR Mr Kayode welcomed everyone to the conference and then the Rector beginned his speech.
In his words, He appreciated God for giving him the opportunity and he also gave his appreciation to his wife and nuclear family. He appreciated his staffs and the hosting communities.
He started by listing out his achievement since he came into office. His achievements includes Two gigantic projects , New hostel to be commissioned soon, New blocks of classroom, Student’s Car park , Civil engineering block to mention but a few.
He admitted that the job of a RECTOR is quite demanding but he is living his life based on three qualities which are being FRIENDLY, being FAIR and also being FIRM . He said his administration was based on the key word *DISECT which means ( Diligence, Integrity, Sacrifice, Excellence, Creativity and Team work.
He mentioned some of the future projects of the Polytechnic which include the Mass food production , A farm for fruits and also an oil palm farm. This will improve the revenue base for the school.
He also advised Parents to encourage their children to learn vocational skills ” If you don’t have a skill, you will be broke”. ” No service delivery, No return”.
Finally, he said the Polytechnic is opened to hostel donations, Pen houses, tractors, student’s welfare and also sponsorship.
Afterwards, the speech of the chairman of journalist (Ekiti state chapter) was read by the Vice President of the organization.
Then, a few reporters were given the opportunity to ask questions and the Rectors gave answers to the questions asked.
The Deputy Rector gave the closing remark, Birthday songs were sung for the Rector and The Chief Imam gave the closing prayer.
