Heritagenewsng reports that following recent positive development at the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN Ekiti State chapter, a former executive board member of the Nigeria Football Federation-NFF ,Mr Taiwo Odebumni has applauded the efforts of Ekiti based Sports Journalists at promoting sports at the grassroots through regular reportage of sporting events.
Mr Odebunmi who expressed delight at the trend of circulation of sports news by the chairman of SWAN, Qozeem OlWrithrough all available means including the social media said he does not miss anything as far as sport was concerned in recent time even when he was not within the state.
The former chairman, Ekiti State footbal Association urged the SWAN executive to keep the flag flying by reaching out to all sports stakeholders and sports personalities both active and retired at home and abroad .
Mr Odebunmi who reiterated his commitment to strengthen synergy with SWAN been winning medals and trophies for the state and country at various recent sporting competitons including the Ogunsakin brothers,Seun and Seyi in tennis, Bamidele Ajayi in Athletics as well as all the National Sports Festival (Edo 2020) medalists for being worthy ambassadors of Ekiti state through Sports.
He expressed special delight at the first ever qualification of Ekiti United fc for the NNL Super 8 saying the feat was worthy of applause even as he urged the management to strive harder next season to reach the Nigeria Professional Football League-NPFL which had eluded Ekiti since its creation.
The former footballer turn administrator also wished all contestants from Ekiti state in the forthcoming National sporting Associations elections the very best urging those that will vote and those that will be voted for to put Ekiti first.
