The first female gubernatorial candidate on the platform of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Erelu Engr. Kemi Josephine Elebute-Halle has urged women to collaborate with Ekiti Elders’ Forum to further support the good works of Biodun Oyebanji’s administration in the state.
She made the call when members of Ekiti Elders Forum, Women’s Wing, paid a courtesy visit to her at her residence in Ado Ekiti, last weekend.
“For us to be able to make success, we must collaborate, especially we women. We must collaborate with the present administration of governor Biodun Oyebanji that the Lord has given us.
“If you see his works in these few months that he assumed office, you will see that he is a seasoned Ekiti person and a well trained humble man and a service-driven governor.
“All we are praying for, as all the women have prayed for him is success during his tenure and that God should see him through the journey with wisdom and protection to be able to fulfill his mandate to Ekiti people,” she said.
Erelu Elebute-Halle said she appreciated the demonstration of love shown to her by her mothers and leaders in the group ,adding; “I was short of words when I saw my mothers came in, I will tell you that it’s an overwhelming experience and I will not take it for granted”.
She said she wished she had known members of the forum before the last governorship election, pointing out that it might have been a landslide victory for her But that she still appreciate God because he is unquestionable.
In her speech, the leader of the group, Mrs Ogunsakin Olayinka Florence, said the major purpose of the visit of the members was to urge her to identify with the women’s wing so as to benefit from her wealth of experience in women empowerment and development globally.
She explained that the forum was not a political gathering but it was formed by women towards promoting the progress and development of Ekiti.
She pointed out that the forum comprises of women from different parties such as PDP, APC, SDP as well as ADP but they all work for the common goal of making the state better
“We want you to join our forum and make positive impact as well as support the good works of the current administration of governor Biodun Oyebanji,” she said.
