Fayemi Accords Us Recognition In Ekiti State – Ethnic Groups

Ethnic groups in Ekiti State have express joy on equal treatment and level play ground giving to them by the state Government.

The Special Assistants to Governor on Ethnic Relations (Ibira);Mr Suleiman Nasiru, (Hausa); Alhaji Usani Bawa and (Igbo); Chief Nnamdi Igwe made this known while featuring on a live programme “S’etigbo ?” sponsored by government to showcase the achievements of Governor Kayode Fayemi in office.

They explained that Governor Fayemi administration accorded them the needed priority in the areas of employment opportunities, provision of water through boreholes and empowerment programs among others.

Mr Nasir listed some of the farmsteads where Ibira community settled and enjoy potable water to include Agoaduloju Ado Ekiti, Orisunbare, Itaji Ekiti, Ikole Ekiti, Omujelu Ekiti, Oye and other farmsteads in Ekiti.

Chief Igwe said that Igbo community in Ekiti had been progressing without any rancor or victimization by government, individual or groups and promised their total support for the present administration.

On his part, Mr Bawa pointed out that Ekiti had been very accommodating and appreciated Governor Kayode Fayemi for approving the expansion of Sasa market to meet the yearnings of the people, especially traders who are majorly Hausa in the area.

The three ethnic groups who claimed to have settled in Ekiti for over one hundred and fifty years, promised to be law abiding at all times and called on government not to relent in it’s social amenity programmes in order to place Ekiti on a sound economic footing.
