Fatoba Commends Ewi-in-Council for Slashing Prices of Goods In Ado-Ekiti Market

The House of Representatives member representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1 and Chairman, House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values, Hon. Fatoba Olusola Steve has commended the Ewi-in-Council for taking a bold step to crash high prices of food items in Ado-Ekiti markets.

Reacting to the latest development in an interview with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti yesterday evening, the Reps. member stated that some sellers have taken undue advantage of the current economic situation in the country to inflate prices of goods at their own will which is causing alot of hardship for the people.

He stated further that the banning of middlemen and various associations in Ado-Ekiti by the council which has been the major reasons for the rising high cost of goods in the state capital.

The House Committee Chairman expressed optimism that the laudable decisions taken by the Ewi-in-Council would bring respite to residents of Ado-Ekiti.

“The decisions taken by the Ewi-in-Council to beat down high prices of food items in Ado-Ekiti markets is highly commendable and a welcome development.

“It is through that there is hardship which is a global phenomenon but our people should not take the advantage of the current economic challenges to cause more hardship by inflating prices of goods at their own will.

“These economic challenges is for a little time as the various reforms and programmes rolled out by the Federal government would soon began to have positive effect on us”

The lawmaker appealed to all the market men and women in Ado-Ekiti to abide by the decisions of the Ewi-in-Council in the interest of the residents of the state capital. He assured them that the state and federal government would come up with more programmes to boost their businesses.
