Falegan Fault EKSU Management Over Hikes Tuition Fees

The Founder of Opeyemi David Falegan Foundation and one of the leading Philanthropist in the state, Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan has condemned the recent hike in tuition fees at the Ekiti State University,Ado Ekiti describing the move as oppressive and anti-students.

The Founder called on the Ekiti state government and the management of the institution to urgently intervene in what Falegan termed the unjust treatment of students.

In a press statement released in Ado Ekiti on Sunday by his media aide, Comrade Adewumi Francis, the leading Philanthropist criticized the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for ignoring the students’ concerns over the fee hike, saying the decision has inflicted hardship on thousands of the students and their parents.

Falegan reiterated that all hands must be on deck to prevent the financial burden of education from crippling the aspirations of Nigerians.

He urged the university management to embrace policies that reflect empathy and inclusiveness, ensuring no student is left behind.

“The management lack of regard for students’ welfare is glaring in the way it chose to hike fees without addressing the genuine concerns of the students.

He called on Ekiti state government and the management of Eksu to avoid arbitrary increases in sundry fees payable and where possible defer further increases so that parents and students would not face too much difficulty.

The founder said the institution management should seek amicable and speedy ways of resolving the recent crisis caused by the increment in the University’s tuition fees.
