…KIMOO urges youths, leaders to embrace discipline and knowledge as tools for transformation

A wave of celebration swept across Ekiti State on Saturday as a member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Hakeem Jamiu, popularly known as KIMOO OLUWANISOLA, officially attained the prestigious academic milestone of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Ekiti State University.
The accomplished lawmaker was among distinguished graduands at the university’s 30th convocation ceremony held in Ado-Ekiti on April 11, 2026, marking a defining moment in his journey as both a public servant and scholar.
Dr. Jamiu’s academic feat has since attracted widespread commendation from political associates, constituents, and stakeholders, who described the achievement as a powerful testament to the fusion of leadership and intellectual growth.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the ceremony, the elated lawmaker reflected on his journey and the significance of the milestone, emphasising the enduring value of dedication and hard work.
“Excellence is never an accident; it is the signature of serious people,” he declared with conviction. “This achievement is not just about earning a degree; it is about reaffirming the power of perseverance, discipline, and an unrelenting commitment to personal growth.”
He noted that his pursuit of a doctorate degree was driven by a desire to deepen his knowledge base and enhance his capacity to serve his constituents more effectively.
“Leadership in today’s world demands more than good intentions. It requires knowledge, critical thinking, and the ability to provide informed solutions to complex societal challenges. This PhD has further equipped me for that responsibility,” he added.
Dr. Jamiu also used the occasion to inspire young Nigerians, particularly students and aspiring leaders, to prioritise education and remain steadfast in the pursuit of excellence.

He further commended the management and academic staff of EKSU for maintaining high standards and contributing meaningfully to human capital development in Nigeria.
The lawmaker, who represents Irepodun-Ifelodun Constituency II in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, reaffirmed his commitment to leveraging his newly acquired knowledge to advance quality legislation, youth empowerment and sustainable development initiatives.
