A political pressure group, Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), Ekiti state chapter has described the February 25 presidential election in Nigeria which produced the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the winner was the candidates for all Nigerians that was not cocooned into any geopolitical flirtations.
The conference in a statement signed by the chairman, Prince Ayo Adelabu and secretary, Pastor Victor Akinola described the formal Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu as a divine gift meant for the office of the president at the most critical period in the history of Nigeria.
The group commended the victory that the APC earned as unprecedented as nobody was financially induced but votes were cast according to individual conscience irrespective of religion and ethnicity difference.
In a related development, the CNPP applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission for their commitment and also the good people of Ekiti State for their large turn out to compliment the effort of the governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, to ensure a hitch free Presidential and National Assembly Elections in the state.
They said governor Oyebanji was a good and committed person in human resources and financial management. “We commended this present administration in Ekiti State for ensuring peace that made our state comfortable for growth and for all the ongoing various development projects”.
However, the conference further called and appealled to the good people of Ekiti State to once again troop out en-mass and cast their vote for all APC candidates across all wards and units on Saturday during the State House of Assembly election as scheduled to have a better representation and a robust relationship of the governor with all the State Legislatures to move Ekiti forward.
According to CNPP, “We urged both electorates, politicians and other stakeholders including party supporters not to indulge in any political violence before, during and after the Saturday polls so as to truly display the ‘omoluabi’ syndrome which all known for”.
The group stressed that, “Opposition should not be allowed to truncate the present political process since we have a governor that is poised to fly on the wings of success arising from his good pedigree and the good work he has been doing within the short period he assumed office, and that a vote for APC is a vote for sweet governance”, the group stated.
