Ekiti Women Affairs Commissioner Urges Staff to Work Harder and Embrace Professionalism

Ekiti State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Olapeju Babafemi, has called on staff of the Ministry to redouble their efforts and demonstrate increased commitment to their duties in 2025.

Babafemi emphasized that hard work and professionalism are vital for enhanced service delivery and to effectively complement the people-oriented policies of administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

Speaking during the maiden meeting of the management and staff of the ministry in 2025 , Babafemi urged staff of the ministry to continue to make meaningful contributions to the shared prosperity agenda of Governor Oyebanji’s administration in the new year.

Commending the contributions of staff in 2024, the Commissioner called for greater synergy among staff, urging them to be abreast of the contemporary social work ethos.

“While we have made significant progress, there is always room for improvement. Let us work together with renewed vigour to meet our goals in the the service of the people of Ekiti State this new year”, Babafemi stated

Highlighting the uniqueness of of social work practice as having a direct impact on people’s wellbeing, Babafemi urged the staff to execute their duties with the fear of God and in line with rules and regulations.

She stressed the importance of working with empathy and aligning with the present administration’s shared prosperity agenda.

Encouraging personal development, Babafemi advised staff “to maximize their potentials and be self-motivated, focused and dedicated while striving for excellence in the development of our state.”

The Commissioner also emphasized the value of fostering love, avoiding negativity, upholding ethical principles, and demonstrating resilience in the face of workplace challenges.

According to her, these qualities will enhance productivity and contribute to a harmonious work environment.

She noted that the civil service is highly rewarding when officers work with integrity and dedication.

In her remarks,the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry , Mrs Omotayo Olatilu, thanked God for the successes recorded by the State Government last year stressing that the new signed State budget on projects and programmes in year 2025 gives assurance of landmark development for the State in the current fiscal year.

She requested the cooperation of all members of Staff of the Ministry with the government, calling them to be ready at all times to carry out their schedules appropriately in order to provide effective service delivery for Ekiti people.
