Ekiti United Resumes Training

..As Individuals Support Team In Cash And Kind For Reaching NNL Super 8

Heritagenewsng reports that the coach Samson Omiponle led coaching crew and players of Ekiti Ujited fc will today (Wednesday) resume training at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium in Ado Ekiti.

The players who are still basking in the euphoria of its qualification for NNL Super 8 are expected to have started arriving at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium in Ado.

The head coach, Samson Omiponle, says the prompt resumption of players’training is aimed at ensuring adequate preparation for the NNL Super 8.

The coach thanked all the fans and supporters of Ekiti United fc for standing by the team through thick and thin and taking time to follow Ekiti United matches at home and away even when most matches were played behind closed doors.

The team manager, Olusola Babatola also heaped praises on the Management headed by the commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Mr Micheal Awopetu and the Management crew headed by Mrs Funke Babalola.

Benbela as he’s popularly known specially thanked Ekiti state governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and all those who supported Ekiti United one or the other.

In the mean time, a former permanent secretary in the state, Mr Yemi Owoseni will today (Wednesday) fulfill his promise of cash reward for each goal scored by presenting the Ekiti United fc team cash reward for the two goals scored against Dynamite Force fc last Sunday.

The chairman, Ekiti State Tennis Association has earlier in the season supposed Ekiti United financially for winning some matches

Similarly, an aide to governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, Mr Isreal Adeshokan on Sunday dolled out handsome cash reward to the players and coaches of Ekiti United fc immediately after the last match of the season against Dynamite Force fc on Sunday

Jaruu as he’s popularly known said he gave the cash reward which was not he first nor second tine this season was to appreciate the commitment of the team while the tough season lasted.

Another sports loving personality who supoorted Ekiti United fc financially was the commissioner for Finance, Mr Akin Oyebode.

The Management of Ekiti United while acknowledging and appreciating all donors including the patron of SWAN, Asiwaju Oyedeji Olajubu for donating water for the team however said the biggest support came from the state governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi whose unquantifiable moral and financial impetus tremendiously helped the team in its campaign during the just concluded NNL ,2021.

Ekiti United secretary, Ayideji Olowolafe affirmed that the chairman of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum who said in October last year that Ekiti state would soon have a premier league team has also signified his commitment and readiness towards offering maximum support prior to the Super 8.

In the mean time, the Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria National League, Mr Emmanuel Adesanya has said no date nor venue has been fixed yet for the Super 8 which will produce the 4 teams that will eventually get promoted to the Nigeria Professional Football League-NPFL next season.

Mr Adesanya during a telephone interview with EUfc Media congratulated all the teams that have booked places in the NNL Super 8 with an assurance of fair play before and during the competition.

Shooting Stars of Ibadan and Ekiti United fc join 6 other teams for the Super 8 having emerged as top 2 in each of the 4 Conferences of the Nigeria National League 2021.
