Ekiti United Players Spurred On Ahead Of Super 8

Heritagenewsng reports that the coaching crew of Ekiti United fc will this morning (Friday) conclud training at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium being the home ground of the team ahead of its departure tomorrow (Saturday) for Enugu where the much anticipated NNL Super 8 will go down between Monday September 6 and September 11.

Reports from the camp of Ekiti United say there are no injury worries while efforts are still being intensified to ensure the release of adequate funds for the prosecution of the weeklong crucial tournament.

As of the time of filing this report, the players are in high spirit and ready to fire from all cylinder at the Super 8 with the likes of highly sought after captain, Bello Babatunde, Taofeek Ahmed (striker), Anthony Silva(defender) and Isiaka Olawale (midfield meastro) all ready for action alongside their fellow team mates.

Goalkeeper trainer, Bamidele .Kolawole a.k.a Oyeme who spoke to EUfc Media said there has been healthy rivalry and keen competiton among the trio of Joseph Oladejo, .Makanjuola Adewale and the most experienced Okon ……….ahead of the Super 8.

Oyeme assured that the three goalkeepers were mentally and physically prepared for the challenge ahead adding that the Super 8 is an avenue for players and goalkeepers to sell themselves to bigger clubs by putting up the best performances during matches.

In a bid to motvate the team, players were on Wednesday motivated with payment of winning bonuses fro two matches from the comcluded NNL 2021.

On the issue pf transportation, Ekiti United fc hopes to travel with one 18 seater AC fitted bus provided by the state government and one 56 seater Falcon bus in a bid to ensure convenience for all players and officials.

The team is expected to take off in the early hours of tomorrow (Saturday) as the trip to Enugu should take at least. …… hours.

The team hopes to be accompanied by some members of the supporters club headed by Sunday Afolabi.

On Tuesday, governor Kayode Fayemi who hosted outstanding athletes from the state who won laurels for Ekiti at National Sports Festival in Edo State reiterated his resolve to keep supporting Ekiti United fc Ekiti United.

Ekiti United has Shooting Stars of Ibadan, Remo Stars of Ijebu-Ode, and Insurance pf Benin to contend with in one of the two groups of the Super 8.

The other four teams namely, Gombe United, DMD fc, El-Kanemi Warriors and Niger Tornadoes will also complete among one another.

Two teams in each group will clash in the Super 8 semi finals to decide the eventual Champions while all four semi finalists are automatically promoted to the highest football league in Nigeria-the NPFL next season.

Its the first time that a team in Ekiti state will get this close to gaining promotion to the elite soccer league since the creation of Ekiti state.
