Screening of players for the newly formed Ekiti United will begin tomorrow (Wednesday Nov.17)
Head Coach of the Feeders Team, Mayowa Afolabi said the team will create an avenue for youngsters from all parts of Ekiti state to form the nucleus of players that could be used to beef up Ekiti United main team in future.
The coach therefore called on footballers from the nooks and crannies of Ekiti state not to miss the opportunity provided by the state government to gainfully engage them with a view to grooming them to become better players .
Some players who are interested in joining Ekiti United Feeders Team have already arrived Ado to meet the coaching crew.
Ekiti United Team Manager, Adedeji Adu while interacting with the players who came much earlier for the screening urged them to give their best at the screening adding that only gifted players will be considered without any form of favouritsm .
Apostle as he’s fondly called urged the coaches, Mayowa Afolabi and Femi Kumuyi to explore the privilege of being in charge of the Feeders Team to assemble players who can step up into the main team in a couple of seasons.
While reiterating the state government’s position on human capital development through sports especially football, the Ekiti United Team Manager assured that players that would be recruited into the Feeders Team would be selected from across the various local government and LCDAs in the state.
Adu assured that the Feeders Team players would be groomed on how to place premium on education and career without any of the two suffering .
The Ekiti United Feeders Team screening for players between 15 and 17 years old will take place at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado for a week.
